MINISTRY OF MAGIC

sorry, it seems the ministry of magic is out of order right now! literally. every single time you step through a door, you end up somewhere entirely else. it looks like all the rooms have been scrambled and apparition is not working. this is going to make registration even more of a pain in the arse, isn't it? while ministry officials try to figure out the root of this problem, perhaps you can test your fortune by wandering through a couple more entryways for the right department or attempt to find the nearest exit. best of luck to you! |
DIAGON ALLEY

if you're planning a trip to diagon alley, perhaps you should choose another date. the streets have inexplicably been swarmed with different types of creatures and most of them don't look particularly friendly. you might want to watch out what you decide to pet. but have no fear! the ministry are sending their best to come and round up all these beasts — at least once they've located the exit. feel free to risk going about your business or even assist with the problem at hand though. no one's going to stop you. just remember: don't harm the creatures! |
HOGWARTS

why are we suddenly back in hogwarts? well, it's happening! feel free to explore the inner walls of the castle or, perhaps, venture out into the grounds. there is just the slightest catch. you're not actually physically there. it's a real out of body experience, yet, for the oddest reason, everyone can see and feel you all the same. try to avoid going out into the forbidden forest though. it's not the safest of places and you can still get hurt! |
M.I.A.V.I.

not in the mood to go out? or maybe you're stuck in the waiting room at st. mungo's because you've been bit by a rowdy beast you tried to pick up. disregarding the reason, it's sure a good thing you've conveniently brought along your m.i.a.v.i. pen so feel free to browse the public network, create your own post, or private message someone! |
OTHER
not interested in any of the options above? feel free to make up your own! the wizarding world is huge, so get creative with it. the setting is october of 1980. have fun testing out and shaping your characters, mingle with others, and start getting those crs down!

Cedric Diggory
Seeking those who might recall the procedures for the tri-wizard tournament, especially the...vagaries of the Goblet of Fire.
hogsmeade/braelyne village
[ Cedric Diggory is considered handsome but, ultimately, he's an ordinary looking young man who blends in easily enough as he moves through Hogsmeade Village and into the small the neighborhood of Braelyne. There's a cautious look on his face, the look of someone who has never before had any reason to distrust the Ministry or people in authority - but also someone who is smart enough to know that this version of the past isn't as perfect and ordinary as it seems. Curfews for protection? A neighborhood set aside for the displaced? They seem like good ideas on the surface, but feel a little like control.
With these thoughts plaguing his mind there's a bit of a frown between his brows as he moves through the village, though he smiles as he comes upon Honeydukes, and likely step inside when he gets to a pub. ]

The last time it was held was around 1700s. 1791 or 1790, I'm not exactly sure. Got discontinued with how often champions were killed during the competition. Considering how young the champions are when competing, I can see how it can put a damper in people's moods for the big event. Is that what you mean by vagaries?
no subject
Not quite, but thank you. It gets revived in the mid-1990s, 1994, I think. Usually the goblet of fire is supposed to choose the champions, one from each school, but the last one I remember at least had four. One from Durmstrang, one from Beauxbatons, two from Hogwarts.
I suppose I was wondering if this had happened before.
[ this is literally as sneaky as he's capable of being. literally. as. sneaky. ]
no subject
I definitely don't think so! From the stories/cautionary tales I've heard there's only ever been one from each school that joined in the tournament. Giving two champions to one school and that school only is sort of an unfair advantage, don't you think?
no subject
But if it's not occurred before, I suppose in a way that answers it,
doesn't it?

Oh goodness I take it that this means you're from Hogwarts as well? Always a pleasure to meet another person educated from the finest of schools!
no subject
But yes, I went to Hogwarts, too.

weren't they? I was looking into the extra champion, though.

Fred or George? Or Ron?
[ Whoever it is remembers at least two of the tasks, so must be from his time. kingweasley so...probably Weasley. Probably not the girl. ]
private
You first. Why you asking about it?
private forever and ever
just wait. ]
Because I'm trying to find people I might know,
and it's the biggest - touchstone, I guess, I can think of from my year.
It's Cedric Diggory. We went to Cup together, yeah?
no subject
yeah
[wizard god, why you doin this
Ron is...well. He's not Harry, so he's not exactly wracked with guilt right now, but he is definitely weirded the fuck out.
It's Cedric Diggory. IT SHOULD NOT BE CEDRIC DIGGORY. Blimey, and he has to, just, what, not say anything? Invent a history for him after fourth year? It's a good thing this isn't in person, he can't just blurt out 'but you're dead' with a quill.]
It's Ron. There's a few of us [who will be one hundred percent freaking the fuck out at your presence] from our time here.
What [fuck shit fuck fuck shit fuck] What was happening when you got brought here?
no subject
Still, there's a strange slowness to Ron's response. He mostly chalks it up to the same reason he's trying to be vague. None of them must know what's going on. ]
Ron. That's good, that we're not alone at least,
right?
I - Harry and I - we'd made it through the maze. I'd just told him that we should pick up the cup together, because we'd both won it. Then it felt like a portkey does, you know?
Except I fell through time, I guess. Is Harry here too?
no subject
This is a shite thing, period.]
He's here but
I mean, it's been
[Rip off the bloody bandaid Ron, this is too much to sneak around.]
It's just been a few years since the tournament, for us
no subject
Did more criminals escape Azkaban?
There's really no way to figure it out without asking. ]
What happened to me?
Or is it that something's happened to the rest of you, and it's my fault somehow?

[A lot of things have faded with time, but Cho still remembers what Cedric's handwriting looks like and she still uses a distinctive C that almost looks like an l.]
no subject
How it selects it's Champions, mostly. Do you remember?
no subject
private
But we both know it selected two Champions for Hogwarts when you competed.
private ad infinitum
Cho, I never even hoped that you'd be here too. Are you - we - from the same space in time?
no subject
It'sYou[There's no response for a moment, and then:]
Did someone tell you?
no subject
[ He stares at the crossed out words for a moment, stares at the message from Ron Weasley. Stares at the wall of the small shop he's tucked himself in the back of. ]
I'm gone, aren't I.
no subject
Some things you get over, and some things you don't: Cho literally ran away to the muggle world to avoid thinking about him and now here he is.]
Sorry.
no subject
I'm going to let Ron Weasley tell me, Cho. He's coming anyway, and I don't...I don't want to put that on you, yeah?
But I'd like to see you, if that's not too much. To ask.
