MINISTRY OF MAGIC sorry, it seems the ministry of magic is out of order right now! literally. every single time you step through a door, you end up somewhere entirely else. it looks like all the rooms have been scrambled and apparition is not working. this is going to make registration even more of a pain in the arse, isn't it? while ministry officials try to figure out the root of this problem, perhaps you can test your fortune by wandering through a couple more entryways for the right department or attempt to find the nearest exit. best of luck to you! DIAGON ALLEY if you're planning a trip to diagon alley, perhaps you should choose another date. the streets have inexplicably been swarmed with different types of creatures and most of them don't look particularly friendly. you might want to watch out what you decide to pet. but have no fear! the ministry are sending their best to come and round up all these beasts — at least once they've located the exit. feel free to risk going about your business or even assist with the problem at hand though. no one's going to stop you. just remember: don't harm the creatures! HOGWARTS why are we suddenly back in hogwarts? well, it's happening! feel free to explore the inner walls of the castle or, perhaps, venture out into the grounds. there is just the slightest catch. you're not actually physically there. it's a real out of body experience, yet, for the oddest reason, everyone can see and feel you all the same. try to avoid going out into the forbidden forest though. it's not the safest of places and you can still get hurt! M.I.A.V.I. not in the mood to go out? or maybe you're stuck in the waiting room at st. mungo's because you've been bit by a rowdy beast you tried to pick up. disregarding the reason, it's sure a good thing you've conveniently brought along your m.i.a.v.i. pen so feel free to browse the public network, create your own post, or private message someone! [ rhain mulciber is a distinctive figure, despite his relatively average height-- his features aren't quite like the rest of his family, and his long dark hair is usually in a thigh-length plait down his back. he also occasionally has his sister's oldest child with him, as he does today. a girl of about seven, she looks suspiciously more like her youngest uncle than her father, and though everyone knows exactly whose child she is, people generally (politely) don't acknowledge it.

she's surprisingly shy for all that she's doubtless been raised with a typical pureblood mentality, and clutches her uncle's hand wherever they go. ]

hogsmeade/braelyne village

[ Cedric Diggory is considered handsome but, ultimately, he's an ordinary looking young man who blends in easily enough as he moves through Hogsmeade Village and into the small the neighborhood of Braelyne. There's a cautious look on his face, the look of someone who has never before had any reason to distrust the Ministry or people in authority - but also someone who is smart enough to know that this version of the past isn't as perfect and ordinary as it seems. Curfews for protection? A neighborhood set aside for the displaced? They seem like good ideas on the surface, but feel a little like control.

With these thoughts plaguing his mind there's a bit of a frown between his brows as he moves through the village, though he smiles as he comes upon Honeydukes, and likely step inside when he gets to a pub. ]

Nice to meet you everyone. Call me Auggy since I don't think I'm tall enough to fit my real name just yet, haha. Is anyone new to these parts interested in meeting up over at Diagon Alley? We can have a chat over drinks and pastries. My treat!

Another day, another hectic workload to fill in the Ministry. More so with how the doors aren't working the way they're supposed to be. Not a lot can throw Auggy off so hats off to whoever made this wonderful blunder because he is off his game today. It's a lot more difficult to keep his good cheer in check with how he keeps bumping into certain individuals. His skin crawls at times every time it happens but he tells himself that's a consequence of the job as he keeps his hisses and curling lips to himself. Someone's gotta travel around giving documents, registrations, parcels, and the like. Allows him to stretch his legs and let him see what's what, who's who, and so on because it never hurts to try and keep yourself on top of things. Plus it never hurts to be in the good graces of some of the folks he's helping out.

Like right now. He sees someone stepping out of the door and can tell they're not supposed to be here. Who would want to be International Magical Trading Standards willingly?

"Are you alright?" He flashes his sweetest smile from where he's standing, head tilted in curiosity and intrigue. Has he met this person before...? Hmm. Let's see where the direction of this conversation goes. He can work things out on the fly if needed. "Need a hand or anything? I've worked here for a while so I know my way around the place! More or less. If the gods and goddesses of doors and pathways smile upon us."

There's so much to do in Diagon Alley! Shopping, hanging out, listening in on friends or individuals who can't keep their voices a tad lower. Auggy enjoys his time out and about this place since there's a lot he can do here. Especially with the chaos of the animals roaming free. It gives him a great excuse to grab someone and pull them to the side to avoid a pack of roving frogs or yell 'watch out!' to a person as a flock of angry owls come barreling their way, giving him an excuse to run to their side and see if they're fine. Or maybe he'll bump into someone when in a bookstore by accident or try to be a helpful individual to someone who looks particularly lost. Whatever the case, Auggy is ready to give a hand. Who knows? He might bump into someone he genuinely likes and wants to help out with no ulterior motives at all.

Or instead he's at a certain establishment in Diagon Alley, having made an arrangement with someone to see them there. Did they take up the offer he made in his post? Is this a brunch with friends long overdue? Something more... interesting? Whatever the reason Auggy is all warm smiles and friendly waves when he sees the person approaching him, eagerly standing so he can go around the table to pull out their chair.
