sorry, it seems the ministry of magic is out of order right now! literally. every single time you step through a door, you end up somewhere entirely else. it looks like all the rooms have been scrambled and apparition is not working. this is going to make registration even more of a pain in the arse, isn't it? while ministry officials try to figure out the root of this problem, perhaps you can test your fortune by wandering through a couple more entryways for the right department or attempt to find the nearest exit. best of luck to you!

DIAGON ALLEY

if you're planning a trip to diagon alley, perhaps you should choose another date. the streets have inexplicably been swarmed with different types of creatures and most of them don't look particularly friendly. you might want to watch out what you decide to pet. but have no fear! the ministry are sending their best to come and round up all these beasts — at least once they've located the exit. feel free to risk going about your business or even assist with the problem at hand though. no one's going to stop you. just remember: don't harm the creatures!

HOGWARTS

why are we suddenly back in hogwarts? well, it's happening! feel free to explore the inner walls of the castle or, perhaps, venture out into the grounds. there is just the slightest catch. you're not actually physically there. it's a real out of body experience, yet, for the oddest reason, everyone can see and feel you all the same. try to avoid going out into the forbidden forest though. it's not the safest of places and you can still get hurt!

Wow there sure is a lot of new faces here! And mum thought I wouldn't make any new friends soon.

Nice to meet you everyone. Call me Auggy since I don't think I'm tall enough to fit my real name just yet, haha. Is anyone new to these parts interested in meeting up over at Diagon Alley? We can have a chat over drinks and pastries. My treat!

Another day, another hectic workload to fill in the Ministry. More so with how the doors aren't working the way they're supposed to be. Not a lot can throw Auggy off so hats off to whoever made this wonderful blunder because he is off his game today. It's a lot more difficult to keep his good cheer in check with how he keeps bumping into certain individuals. His skin crawls at times every time it happens but he tells himself that's a consequence of the job as he keeps his hisses and curling lips to himself. Someone's gotta travel around giving documents, registrations, parcels, and the like. Allows him to stretch his legs and let him see what's what, who's who, and so on because it never hurts to try and keep yourself on top of things. Plus it never hurts to be in the good graces of some of the folks he's helping out.

Like right now. He sees someone stepping out of the door and can tell they're not supposed to be here. Who would want to be International Magical Trading Standards willingly?

"Are you alright?" He flashes his sweetest smile from where he's standing, head tilted in curiosity and intrigue. Has he met this person before...? Hmm. Let's see where the direction of this conversation goes. He can work things out on the fly if needed. "Need a hand or anything? I've worked here for a while so I know my way around the place! More or less. If the gods and goddesses of doors and pathways smile upon us."

There's so much to do in Diagon Alley! Shopping, hanging out, listening in on friends or individuals who can't keep their voices a tad lower. Auggy enjoys his time out and about this place since there's a lot he can do here. Especially with the chaos of the animals roaming free. It gives him a great excuse to grab someone and pull them to the side to avoid a pack of roving frogs or yell 'watch out!' to a person as a flock of angry owls come barreling their way, giving him an excuse to run to their side and see if they're fine. Or maybe he'll bump into someone when in a bookstore by accident or try to be a helpful individual to someone who looks particularly lost. Whatever the case, Auggy is ready to give a hand. Who knows? He might bump into someone he genuinely likes and wants to help out with no ulterior motives at all.

Or instead he's at a certain establishment in Diagon Alley, having made an arrangement with someone to see them there. Did they take up the offer he made in his post? Is this a brunch with friends long overdue? Something more... interesting? Whatever the reason Auggy is all warm smiles and friendly waves when he sees the person approaching him, eagerly standing so he can go around the table to pull out their chair.

Augustus, you are both older and taller than me and if anyone calls me Marlie they're regretting it.

It's because you're Marlene! Everyone knows better than to do that to you if they don't want trouble.

And I mean that in a complimenting way. Honest. On my mum's heart and everything.

Maybe it's time for you to cultivate a reputation for trouble. I'm sure you aren't friends with Lucius Malfoy without learning how to hex.

And of course, I mean that in the most complimentary way. He's my second best customer.

That means my sibling will lose a good role model though. Who will my parents use when they're trying to make them do something?

But no, really- Can I ask who's your first best customer? Does their name rhyme with loggy?

Honey, no, you've got to spend more money than Bellatrix Black to take that title.

No one says your parents have to hear about your rep.

Eeeee they won't hear of my reputation but I do think they'll hear of my spending habits if I try to outspend Bella of all people.

At least you can comfort me with the knowledge that I'm the second best customer? It's okay if you have to lie on that front. I can sweet ignorance too.

Whatever, can't even think of a proper descriptor.

Antonin had watched him from afar, an small uptick in the corner of his lips. Amusement at work comes to Antonin in various ways, but it's rarely ever because of other people's considerations towards another being. Everyone knows the score in the Ministry, of course — there are the face of Riddle's glowing administration, and as such they are expected to go about their day respectfully, especially toward those of poorer circumstances, like the Muggleborns and the Time Deviants.

For Antonin, it's downright fascinating to observe and deduct just who is sincere and who is putting up incredible facades. Some are too transparent — no one would ever believe that a woman like Bellatrix Black would seriously even consider smiling sincerely towards a Muggleborn (it's downright hilarious) — while others are still mysteries, waiting to be solved.

After Augustus Rookword has helped the lost soul get to where they need to be, Antonin approaches him.

"You know, Augustus, others would say that you are far too sweet toward strangers," he says, idly.
